Dear Emily,
I’m getting kind of scared, we just lost a lot of troops because of re-enlistements. I would’ve not re-enlisted but we lost so many troops that at this point it’s my duty to finish the war and fight until we win. I hope that you and the kids are doing okay, I’ve been gone, leaving y’all alone for a while and I’m really sorry about that.
Much love, Theodore Parrott
